My dear brothers and sisters,
I wanted to let you know before you read it in the Catholic Star Herald, which will be released on line tomorrow, that Bishop Sullivan has appointed me to be the Pastor of Christ Our Light in Cherry Hill, NJ., effective July 15, 2020.
It is with deep sadness that I address you, but with eager expectation and excitement, to do the work of our Lord at the wonderful community of Christ Our Light.
I want you to know that I love you all. While being excited to take on a new position my heart also breaks at the same time as we have done wonderful and amazing things over the last six and a half years at our beautiful and loving parish. When my brother priests told me that I received a gem coming to Holy Family, I quickly realized how precious this gem really is.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your friendship, your love and sharing with me in the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus.
Your new Pastor will be Father James Bartoloma, the current Chancellor of our Diocese. Father Bartoloma is a kind, good, and holy priest. He will arrive on Wednesday, July 15th to relieve me.
Again, thank you my friends for your love and support.
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
Fr. John
