The theme of the Parish Lenten Mission: “Living with Jesus and Mary in Our Joys and Sorrows,” and will be led by Father Kevin Mohan, the Pastor of the Parish of Saint Monica in Atlantic City.
Fr. Kevin Mohan, a priest of the Diocese of Camden since 2013, is the pastor of the Parish of St. Monica in Atlantic City, which encompasses all of Atlantic City and includes three beautiful churches. Each summer St. Monica celebrates the original “Wedding of the Sea” in honor of Our Lady’s Assumption, welcoming more than 2,000 pilgrims and locals. Yearround, Father’s parish offers Confession six days a week and Masses in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Fr. Mohan only speaks two of those languages, but is very slowly learning Vietnamese, too. Father grew up at St. Jude in Blackwood, attending the parish grade school and Camden Catholic High School. He holds degrees from Franciscan University of Steubenville (English), St. Mary’s Seminary & University (Theology) in Baltimore, and most recently the Villanova University School of Business (Church Management). He had also studied philosophy at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. Fr. Mohan is known for his preaching, orthodoxy, reverence and encouragement, and as a helpful spiritual director. Last year he celebrated his 25th anniversary of consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This year he turns 40 and marks five years in Atlantic City.
